Be in a film

Get involved in a multi-generational film locally

Generations at Hilary’s Hut is a community-led feature film that warmly invites older  people connected to Hilary’s Hut to take part in the filming itself.  This is not a course, workshop, or programme. There is no long-term commitment and no  expectation to take part in every stage of filming. People are welcome to be involved as  much or as little as they choose, in ways that feel comfortable and enjoyable.  Older participants are invited as active contributors to the making of the film, not as  observers, extras, or an audience. Older people have a wealth of experience. – We will  welcome any involvement from the older people, we will provide training if required this  can be anything from helping with costumes, craft service to operating a camera    The project will give the opportunity for older and younger people to work together on a  creative project to share and learn new experiences and share a passion for creative   projects.

The Vision

Film synopsis:  And when love and loyalty collide… who really gets who? Logline: A centre for troubled  youths (The Pulse). Police, criminals, troubled youths, elderly gangsters and a young man  trying to do the right thing. Can he escape and present and go straight? And get the girl?   The Pulse focuses on AJ a troubled youth who is trying to go straight while his Grandma is  trying to pull him back in to the world of crime.  The Pulse: A Feature Film by Kate Woodland and Paul Walker. With the option of a series set  in the fictional Staines Community Centre known as ‘The Pulse’ with young and old, police  and criminals and drama, action and laughs.

Who are we? The film is led by Kate Woodland and Paul Walker, founders of the Filmmakers Community Collective. Paul Walker is a professional filmmaker with over 15 years’ experience, committed to using film to bring people together and tell meaningful, human stories. Kate Woodland is a community-focused filmmaker with a strong background in inclusion and wellbeing. She will act as safeguarding lead throughout, ensuring participants feel supported and respected at every stage. Together, Kate and Paul create calm, welcoming filming environments where people of all ages feel able to take part without pressure or judgement.

This is an open invitation for older people at Hilary’s Hut, their families and anyone locally to: • Be involved in a feature film. • Be supported and safeguarded. • Take part in ways that suit them. No pressure. Just people, stories, and shared creativity, allowing the older community to mix with those who have similar interests.
